During the late seventies to early eighties, Yamaha was a serious contender to Gibson’s SG guitars, by introducing its own series of guitars also known as the SG series and the arch top SA series.
The series was so popular (especially the SG1000, SG2000 and SG3000 guitars) that guitar legends like Carlos Santana worked with Yamaha by giving inputs on the design of one of the popular models, SG2000. Other guitarists who’ve used the SG guitars include Chris Poland and Frank Gambale.
Recently Yamaha has revamped the SG series and in September 2010 introduced 3 new models: SG1820, SG1820A and SG1802. As a Yamaha endorsee, Rosli has been given the privilege to feature and demo on the SG1820 model this coming Saturday 18 September 2010. Rosli is excited to do the demonstration on this new classic.
So head down to Yamaha Plaza Singapura this Saturday 18 September 2010, 3PM to check out the new series and you can also get to try out the guitar or ask Rosli any questions about the guitar and other stuff after the demonstration. Admission is free.
“This guitar retains its classic look from its predecessors and at the same time, the new guitar from this revamped series is full of tone. I can’t wait to showcase the sound that this guitar can make to everyone this Saturday.” – Rosli Mansor
