Joe Satriani has been one of my big guitar inspirations. So when Swee Lee brought in Marshall, I was elated.
Satch collaborates with Marshall on his signature series and this morning I had that great opportunity to try out the model JVM410HJS Joe Satriani Amp Head at Swee Lee’s Bras Brasah outlet.
This piece is a lean mean fighting machine. I tried pairing the amp with a few guitars but the amp went totally wild when I paired it with my favourite Mike Landau Fender signature guitar!
Tone is most beefy, juicy and delicious and it got all my musical tastebuds tantalised.
Sounding bold, it packs such a massive muscular versatility that you can run its 4 channels and 3 modes. The amp head can really shape in and out, from clean, to classic crispy plexi, high Satch-urated and full complex distortion and anything in between.
Special feature – The noise gate on each channel is a great function to have on such a high gain amp!
This beast truly rings and sings.
Though disappointed that I didn’t manage to catch Satch in his recent outing here, I managed to get a good insight of the man through his signature amp.
